What I've Learnt About 3D Art as an Non-Expert, So Far

Updated: Apr 24

Title: 10 Tips for Creating Stunning 3D Art, from an intermediate as of April 2024 1. Understanding the Basics: Before diving into complex techniques, it's crucial to have a strong foundation. Familiarize yourself with the software you're using and learn the basic tools and functions. Understanding the fundamentals will give you a solid base to build upon. 2. Start A Tutorial; Jumping right into a tutorial for me did wonders, ensure you are learning and always add your own little twist, but for the first tutorial follow it word for word and step by step. Blender Guru Donut 3.0 (not 4.0) Tutorial is what I'd Recomment. 3. Learnign Lighting & Render settings; During your tutorail stage right before you branch off into individual work, practise, learn and understand lighting by making changes when following tutorials and see where you fall. Understand the different render angines and how to reduce your time render times as much as possible. Here is the playlist i created and used for that, https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8s7OH10B_Qc4GTMETOkQQ2pb2gyza6rV&si=p-b-o3KrXccnsY3_, I watched all the vids are wrote down the new ones showed each video because most of them overlap. 28 Videos in playlist. 4. Textures/Assest/Addons Youtube, Youtube, Youtube. Find the asset websites, get the free youtuber assests, get the addons, find the HDRI sites and sites for models (They are normally all in one). 5. Editing Asssets Learn the setting of assets it will help you understand and apply knowledge other than you just using them. 6. Unlock Blender 3D Go to Preferences and the Addon section and Unlock all there is for Meshs' and the other built in assests available on Blender 3d. Thank Me Later, there is a lot already built in. 7. Practise, Practise, Practise Do the little senseless projects that never leave blender; test experiment and repeat with stuff like physics and archimesh and lighing and products. Timing is important, but if you need to take a month or 2 before you finish a project due to life stuff, then do that. It'll just take a little longer for you and harder to stay consistent.

8. Your Own (Where I now am) You are now able to develope beautiful Scenes and animations all by yourself; appying textures, using models, creating and editing complex textures by yourself for exactly what you want. Continue doing this until you max is here and we will continue together. This is the Youtube Playist that I created and still use and add videos to it, https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8s7OH10B_QeVBF14p0ZSXt7hrYiQv75O&si=kcw1qJdAK1BOgjZI, 50 Videos. 9. (Not Yet Identified) 10. (Not Yet Identified) Bonus Tip: Try and get into the other professions of digital art, they all compliment 3d art, animation , modelling etc.
